Alert 3 and Lessons Learned
$49.95 2-volume set (60 min. ea)

This video program was created from the official accounts of fire suppression, rescue and medical personnel. Documented from hundreds of photos along with videotapes, audio recordings and interviews with the key people who helped turn tragedy into triumph - the triumph of a small but well-prepared emergency response team that made a tremendous difference in this air disaster. The behind the scenes story of the crash and rescue of United Flight 232 is an important training tool as we consider homeland security.

Since it's release in 1989, Alert 3 has become the standard for EMS, CFR and Disaster Preparedness training programs. It is used by agencies around the world and is part of the curriculum for preparedness training at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

In response to hundreds of calls asking for an additional training tape dealing with the aftermath of the rescue of Flight 232, Alert 3 Lessons Learned is now available to meet the demand for quality training materials in the area of post traumatic stress and critical incident stress debriefing. Community factors are discussed that you may not immediately associate with response to disaster. Public relations, dealing with the media and families who have questions, and the logistics of housing thousands of unexpected visitors to your community, all very much a part of the disaster response.

Up Hill, Both Ways
Sioux City History Series
$15.00 each volume VHS
Produced by George Lindblade

A history buff, Lindblade has interviewed scores of locals for this video series. Three 30-min volumes are complete and he has at least 3 more volumes "in the can". According to Lindblade, "TV stations used to record history when we shot film. You didn't throw it away and you couldn't re-use it. That all changed with the advent of videotape. TV stations use tapes over and over and nothing gets saved. the history of a community is too important to erase." The Up Hill, Both Ways series is more than a history of one community, it is every community.

We Didn't Want it to Happen This Way
$20.00 VHS
A Carroll House Production
Filmed by George Lindblade (60 min.)

Shot on film in 1978, this project was commissioned by the Zenith Corporation and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. It chronicles the effect of the Sioux City Zenith plant closing on the lives of nine people from seven families. The film crew then traveled to Taiwan and Mexico, where the Sioux City jobs relocated. This was the first wave of US manufacturing jobs moving to offshore facilities. 1500 people, mostly women, lost their jobs. The film was intended to encourage Congress to pass antidumping laws that would protect American workers. We Didn't Want it to Happen This Way was the winner of the 1979 American Film Festival Award.
